ATHENS-CHILESBURG ELEMENTARY SCHOOL OPENS The new $12. 8 million Athens-Chilesburg Elementary School was built in response to overcrowding at the old historic Athens Elementary. Replacing the older school, Athens-Chilesburg opens August 16 with 71,196 square feet of space, with half of the students coming from the old school.
